A tradition brought by Prof Vanja Ković from the Oxford Baby Lab, Journal Club is the weekly meeting of staff and student members that takes place during the semester weeks. At Journal Club, we discuss papers fresh from the press, rehearse presentations, celebrate graduations and other successes, dissect planned studies and provide feedback to each other, host guest sessions by our collaborators, and organise workshop series. The most special Journal Club meeting of the year is the one just before the winter holiday break, nicknamed Academic Materice, when at least some of the lab alumni, normally scattered around the world, are in Belgrade and able to join us for lunch or cookies sprinkled with mingling between generations.
How to join?
Currently, Journal Club sessions are coordinated by Profs Vanja Ković and Anđela Šoškić for all lab members, regardless of who their mentor is. Students at our Department who wish to join need to have passed introductory courses taught by JC coordinators first (Psychology of Learning, Statistics in Psychology 1 and 2).
